Baltic Line has decided to start, as of week 28, using the biggest ro-ro port in Estonia Paldiski South Harbour, which is part of AS Tallinna Sadam, as its loading port. Until now, the company used Paldiski North Harbour.
Paldiski South Harbour provides better conditions for servicing clients and cargo flows transported by Baltic Line due to many ro-ro piers, well-developed infrastructure, extensive ro-ro operating area as well as large covered and open warehouse space. Paldiski South Harbour also provides services to extensive ro-ro liner traffic from and to the ports on the continent and in Scandinavia, which expands our clients' freight transhipment options.
The shipping line Baltic Line is part of the Norwegian group Nor Lines AS operating 10 cargo ships on the Baltic Sea and the North Sea. Moreover, Nor Lines organises cargo transport by 11 Hurtigruten's ships on the Norwegian coast. Also, Nor Lines has a 40% holding in Sea-Cargo AS, which operates 6 ro-ro ships on routes between the ports of the continent, Great Britain, Denmark and Norway. Nor Lines AS was established in 1988; the company's sales revenue for the financial year of 2011 amounted to ca. 0.7 billion Norwegian krones.
The basic loading ports at which Baltic Line's m/s Baltic Betina calls twice a month are Paldiski and Turku (Finland). The other Baltic Line's ports of call are Moss, Larvik, Lyngdal, Sandnes and Bergen in Norway and Grena/Hundested in Denmark.
